Once More, No Baseball

Snowflakes fall,
Once more—
No baseball.
I know the calendar says—
“It’s spring, and the month is April,”
But in the air—
There is a chill.

It feels like fall,
Mid to late October,
The seasons are mixed up—
That’s all.
Enough is enough.

Where is the sun?
Where’s the fun?
Why isn’t it warm?
Over the snow,
Any day—
I’ll take a thunderstorm.

Please, Mother Nature,
I need a cure.
My body aches,
Thanks to the weather,
Yes, mistakes.

I am wearing my Cubs shirt,
Was ready to hear—
“Ball in the dirt.”
Alas, www.weather.com says,
Winter today, yes.

Winter weather advisory,
Can it be?
Some accumulation of snow,
Measuring in inches—
Maybe 3.

I want spring,
I don’t ask—
Too much,
Of anything.

I don’t care,
What the forecast says—
Winter’s not done,
I guess.

Tomorrow better be a good day,
For the Cubs to play.
This mess of snow and ice,
Isn’t nice.
It mustn’t stay,
It needs to—
Go away.

Called Off Again

I don’t know when,
This crazy weather—
Will ever end.
The Cubs game,
Got canceled again.

The game was to begin at 6:05,
And Wrigley Field,
Would’ve come alive.
With cheers to spare,
If we sent home runs—
Out of there.

Against the Cardinals,
Our rivals.
I was hoping for game day,
Not the calling off—
Of play—
Not again today.

If you must know,
It’s thanks—
To the snow.
It’s not supposed to be winter,
Not in April,
This weather,
Is a PILL.

For the 2nd day,
The Cubs won’t play.
Not since Mother Nature,
Is getting her—
Own way.

I hope tomorrow’s better,
With less clouds,
And warmer temperatures.
When we do resume play,
I hope it goes
Our way.
What snow is on the ground,
Better not stay.
What to play,
Because I’m thinking—
Bible study won’t happen,
Not tonight—
Thanks to the weather,
Anyway.

Our 7th Win—Yes, In The Rain, Cold, And Wind

Miserable weather,
Winds blowing—
Not light,
As a feather.

I was happy with how things ended,
No wonder the game dragged.
Because of the weather,
I’m shocked that game—
Wasn’t suspended.

After being down a ton,
I’m shocked,
We came back and won.
That was a crazy way—
How the stadium rocked.

Atlanta couldn’t keep us down,
Our feet were bound,
To leave the ground.
I’m glad we won,
That victory—
Was so much fun.

Will the same happen today?
I hope there’s no delay.
Two out of three,
Sounds good to me.

On this cloudy day,
Let’s send the—
Braves away.
With a loss for them,
How about a
Win for us, then?

The game is on channel 9,
I hope the weather,
Is fine.
A win would be good,
In the neighborhood.
Doesn’t look like it’ll be sunny,
But another Cubs win—
Would be too funny.

Five Wins For The Cubs And Wii Bowling Week

Wii bowling update from week #8:
Oh, I can’t wait!
This season,
Oh, it was great.

We are going to the playoffs,
We didn’t suffer—
Any loss..
Deer Path of Huntley is still flying high,
I think we can almost—
Touch the sky.

Naturally, the playoffs don't begin for a few weeks yet
May be we can get a rest
Before what comex next.
We’re the bowling earthquake—
We rumbled so much—
We’re tired,
so maybe we can get a bit of a break,
before our next challenge—
to take.

We’re like the Cubs,
Not scrubs.
2nd place they are,
As of yesterday—
Awesome by far.

Oh, snow—
You must go.
Let the Cubs play,
At Wrigley Field—
Because it is,
Opening Day.

Games, we,
Took three.
Yippee!
Yes, away from Milwaukee.
Today, we steal treasure,
Oh, what pleasure.
From the Pirates,
Robbing them of 1st place,
For the lead,
We’ll give chase.

It May Be The First Day Of Spring

According to the calendar,
Winter has been sent packing,
A note saying—
“Return to sender”.

Mother Nature doesn’t agree,
For, you see—
Cold temperatures today,
Winter just wants,
To stay.

Today’s spring,
The sun is—
Somewhat shining.
I haven’t been outside,
But, the weather—
Has been,
A wild ride. ☹

I <3 going outside,
When the weather’s warm—
And there’s no storm.
If I could,
A bike I’d ride.

But, not today,
Because winter—
Wants to stay.
Spring brings allergies,
Yes, there are days—
I can only sneeze.

My sinus are going nuts,
Stupid sinus headache—
Oh, shucks!
Dread spring as I do,
Because allergies—
Can be a zoo.

Baseball season,
So close—
For all the correct reason.
Wish I could go to a game,
With my bestie—
In me,
You bring the flame.

It Seems So Early

Daylight savings time,
It stinks—
Worse than a lime.
I <3 getting full sleep,
But not when super early,
Time to wake up—
Will creep.

It’s good it stays light longer,
The sun’s rays—
Are growing stronger.
On the Northern Hemisphere,
Spring’s definitely here.

I <3 going for walks,
When the weather’s nice,
To do that—
I don’t have to,
Think twice.

Any day,
Is a good day.
When I’m with my bestie,
Him and me.

Yay!
Today’s a,
Very sunny day.
I <3 the weather,
Let’s enjoy,
It together.

According to www.weather.com,
No snow bomb.
It’s supposed to be in the forties.
Warmer weather?
Yes, please. 😊

Losing An Hour Of Sleep

Beep!
No, I don’t want,
To lose an hour
Of spleep.

I <3 cuddling,
With my best friend,
Nothing beaths—
Our time snuggling.

Confusion will hit,
Once time goes ahead,
One bit.
Tired we’ll feel,
The next day—
How does that not seem,
Yet real?

I wonder, though—
If off our routines,
This will throw.
Me and Sean,
Our eight hours,
Will be gone.

I’m happy it’s nearly spring, 😊
Outside, I can go walking.
Wit my bestie,
Him and me.
What do you say?
I wouldn’t have it,
Any other way.

Happy Birthday To Me

Happy birthday to me!
Good weather I see.
I’m glad it’s sunny, not the least bit cloudy. I think this is my first birthday in a while that had good weather. I can definitely remember times with snow, even rain. Ultimately, that was when I lived practically all over Illinois.
Now, I live in Huntley.
A good day was yesterday, celebrating with family and friends through the afternoon. I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Celebrating with people I love is the way I asked for the day to go. Food and fun was the theme of the afternoon.
Thanks, Mom, for a fun day.
Thanks, Sean, for your caring ways.
I <3 you all.
What to do today?
I don’t know, maybe go outside to enjoy the nice day? My birthday weekend’s never been this nice—usually, there is a chilly or cloudy day. Ultimately, something chased that off. Boy, does that make me happy! 😊 I hope to be able to go out and enjoy the day a bit before it ends up raining tomorrow.

Day Before my Birthday

Today,
A good way.
Yes, it’s time to play,
Almost my birthday.
I am so happy. 😊
I wonder what,
Is in store—
For me.
What is he up to,
My bestie?
I doubt,
He’ll tell me.
I <3 how he acts innocent,
He’s up to something,
I’m sure—
But I may have to wait,
A day more.

Don’t think it’s a walk outside,
Winter wants,
To collide.
With spring,
Could it be snowing?

Not on my birthday,
No way!
The snow,
It can go.
Spring can arrive—
So new growth,
Can thrive.

I <3 my bestie,
Because he always,
Surprises me.
In many ways,
I wonder what tomorrow will be—
Let’s see if he knows the day.
