Dong!!!!

Hey!
Ho!
What do you know?
The Cubs are 3 ½ games out of 1st place,
In the NL Central race.

While we won,
The Brewers could not,
Get the job done.
But we did,
Winning another one.

With another win,
In exciting fashion,
The home runs
Came crashin’

What an exciting way,
To end a Tuesday!
I’m glad there was no rain delay,
At all yesterday.
I <3 the “dong”,
Play—that
Out of the park,
For a home run—
Didn’t take long.

I’ve seen loud home runs,
But none like this one.
“How long did it take to get out?
The announcer would soon shout.
“Thousand-one. . . gone!”
After the dong!

Good thing we don’t play,
At home today.
Thunderstorms coming,
If you don’t want to get wet—
Better be running.

Don’t hit your head,
Like the ball hit the poll—
Come inside instead.
Tonight’s game on NBC Sports Chicago,
Watching another victory—
Beginning at 6:05,
Is the way to go.

I hope for another dong,
That won’t take long.
Will watch with my bestie,
Remaining dry,
You see.

Twenty-Two Wins

Twenty-two wins,
Oh, how my head spins!
Yesterday’s game,
Wasn’t lame.

Atlanta put up a fight,
But, we shed light.
Winning in comeback ways,
To live more days.

I <3 how the game rocked,
Atlanta’s win—
Boy, was it blocked!
Good game, guys,
What a surprise!

Tied for 2nd place,
In the NL Central race.
Another win would be nice,
Let’s shoot for the stars,
Let’s beat them twice.

Tied with the Cardinals,
Same record—
A game back of 1st,
That’s the worst.
I hope they lose,
So we fill their shoes.

Tonight is another game,
Here we go again!
The game is,
On WGN.
Let’s take two,
Of the three—
That counts Mondays make-up game,
#I’mIn,
How about you?

I’ll be alive,
At 6:35.
Tonight for a win,
Let the game begin!

Yu Darvish returns,
I hope he learns.
That we want our winning streak,
To reach its peak.

“Go, Cubs, Go”
Will be sun—
At the top of my voice,
If we win again—
You know.

19 Wins

I have a good reason to grin,
The Cubs reached
Nineteen wins.
I <3 our current streak,
Let’s win again—
To end this week.

Yesterday’s game,
How awesome it was!
Like Monday,
A blow-out—
Just the same.

No game today,
It’s a day off—
To play golf?
Or spend time outside,
For a bike ride?

Tomorrow is game on,
The White Sox—
To our end of town.
Can anyone say,
“Smackdown!”?

Let’s kick off the weekend right,
With another winning sight.
That would be,
Such a delight.

Celebrating in the city,
Never sounded this pretty.
Today would be a good day,
No clouds in the way.

Go, Cubs!
Our winning ways,
Haven’t seen the last,
Of days.
A winning we will go,
Ho! Ho!
Just a game out of 1st place,
In this crazy race.

A Four-Game Sweep Of The Brewers With Our 15th Win

In this crazy race,
We’re still in 2nd place.
Only ½ game out of first,
This could be worse.

We swept the “Crew”,
As we intended,
To do—
Off the ground,
And out of town.

What a game from yesterday,
I hope for more,
Of the same today
Through I don’t know,
Why the early show.

Tonight’s game is at 6:05,
And hour earlier than usual—
I wonder if bad weather is to arrive.
Getting the game in early,
Could that be the rule?

No bad weather today,
According to www.weather.com-
Is on the way.
So I don’t know why—
The early start today.

I do know,
NBC SportsNet—
Calls the show.
Throwing the Rockies,
Will be a breeze.

Since we got out the broom,
From the Brewers’ doom.
Beating them was—
Ah, a piece of cake,
Now, time for a Rockie
Earthquake.

Thunderstorms

Boy, it’s warm!
Looks like time,
Yes, for thunderstorms.
Guess today,
I should
Stay indoors.

Right now,
It’s cloudy—
The sun,
It doesn’t
Want to show.

I love spring,
I hope it
Doesn’t start snowing.
Winter should,
Be going.

Not very hard,
Is the wind blowing;
However, dark skies—
Are growing.

It’s only after noon,
For Cubby’s sake,
We have a game in a bit—
Will we get it in,\?
Not have to re-do,
Because of the storm shake?

Braves are in town,
I hope no thunder boomers,
Shake the ground.
Until the game is done—
We should be able,
To get in this one.

Winter In Late March

Winter in late March?
I’m glad I’m not on
The St. Louis arch.
It’s windy here today,
The sun doesn’t want—
To come out to play.

I wouldn’t want to go for a walk,
Or attempt to make pictures—
On concrete,
In chalk.
I’d get blown down,
Too the ground.

Of all the days to be cold,
In Illinois—
This isn’t untold.
Illinois weather is weird,
Winter wants,
To be revered.

I want spring,
Is that too much to ask?
Mother Nature,
What are you doing?
I hope this cold blast,
Somewhat cold, anyway-
Doesn’t last.

My ankle hurts,
The right one—
That had a bone put into it from my hip,
The pain comes in spurts.
When crazy weather comes,
I don’t want to chance going out,
Don’t want to get blown away,
Even on ice,
Slip.

Talked to my mom,
About Easter weekend,
Planning lunch together—
Time to spend.
Told her about the windy weather,
“Here, too,” she said,
I don’t think,
She wanted to—
Get out of bed.

She told me of snow,
Flurries,
Heck, no.
Will winter ever leave?
It’s supposed to be spring,
Mother Nature,
Is trying to deceive.

It May Be The First Day Of Spring

According to the calendar,
Winter has been sent packing,
A note saying—
“Return to sender”.

Mother Nature doesn’t agree,
For, you see—
Cold temperatures today,
Winter just wants,
To stay.

Today’s spring,
The sun is—
Somewhat shining.
I haven’t been outside,
But, the weather—
Has been,
A wild ride. ☹

I <3 going outside,
When the weather’s warm—
And there’s no storm.
If I could,
A bike I’d ride.

But, not today,
Because winter—
Wants to stay.
Spring brings allergies,
Yes, there are days—
I can only sneeze.

My sinus are going nuts,
Stupid sinus headache—
Oh, shucks!
Dread spring as I do,
Because allergies—
Can be a zoo.

Baseball season,
So close—
For all the correct reason.
Wish I could go to a game,
With my bestie—
In me,
You bring the flame.

It Seems So Early

Daylight savings time,
It stinks—
Worse than a lime.
I <3 getting full sleep,
But not when super early,
Time to wake up—
Will creep.

It’s good it stays light longer,
The sun’s rays—
Are growing stronger.
On the Northern Hemisphere,
Spring’s definitely here.

I <3 going for walks,
When the weather’s nice,
To do that—
I don’t have to,
Think twice.

Any day,
Is a good day.
When I’m with my bestie,
Him and me.

Yay!
Today’s a,
Very sunny day.
I <3 the weather,
Let’s enjoy,
It together.

According to www.weather.com,
No snow bomb.
It’s supposed to be in the forties.
Warmer weather?
Yes, please. 😊

Too Much Rain

Oh, the pain!
My legs ache—
My balance,
Is a-shake.
We’re having,
Too much rain.

I know it’s so early,
For all this rain.
It washed away the snow,
It had to go.

I <3 spring,
Time to go walking.
With my best friend,
The fun never,
Has to end.

While rain waters the earth,
Our wii bowing team—
Is reigning down,
Our 1st place last week—
Though scores,
Seemed to stink.

No other team’s close to us,
Stepping in—
To make the score grow,
I must.
Bestie, I ask—
Tonight’s tournament play,
Is there a spot for me today?

If I play,
Rain outside—
Will evaporate away.
You guys need me,
I’m always there—
You see.
