Twenty-Five Cubs #FlyTheWs On A Fun-Filled And Busy Weekend In Late May 2018

2018

Busy weekend,
A different blend.
Yes, the Cubs won—
Got the job done.

They now are tied for 2nd place,
In the National League
Central race.
I hope we can,
Keep up the pace.

The smile on my face,
Lasted all day—
I watched yesterdays game,
In more than
One place.

Celebrated a friends birthday,
In a cool way.
With his family,
My bestie—
And me.

Ate pizza, chips, and even—
Drank Pepsi.
On a chilly day,
Watching the Cubs play.

After a busy Saturday,
Participating in a 5K.
Sean, I wish you went,
It was time
Well spent.
Yes, I went in my wheelchair,
A lot of walking,
Was there.

I would do that again,
With my best friend,
As with each other—
The fun doesn’t
Have to end.

Sean, let’s do this next year,
In walking gear.
You can push me—
In my wheelchair,
I hope jackets
We won’t,
Have to wear.

Yes, this weekend was cool,
Rain was constant—
I’m no fool.
I want to see the sun,
Be able to sit outside—
And have some fun.
Walk around the building,
Just hanging out,
With you—
I’d love to do.

19 Wins

I have a good reason to grin,
The Cubs reached
Nineteen wins.
I <3 our current streak,
Let’s win again—
To end this week.

Yesterday’s game,
How awesome it was!
Like Monday,
A blow-out—
Just the same.

No game today,
It’s a day off—
To play golf?
Or spend time outside,
For a bike ride?

Tomorrow is game on,
The White Sox—
To our end of town.
Can anyone say,
“Smackdown!”?

Let’s kick off the weekend right,
With another winning sight.
That would be,
Such a delight.

Celebrating in the city,
Never sounded this pretty.
Today would be a good day,
No clouds in the way.

Go, Cubs!
Our winning ways,
Haven’t seen the last,
Of days.
A winning we will go,
Ho! Ho!
Just a game out of 1st place,
In this crazy race.

Finally, There Is A Warming Trend That Better Go In The Favor Of The Cubs This Afternoon

A warming trend,
Looks like winter—
Has finally come,
To an end.
No more snow splinter!

Since the Cubs had trouble,
Because the Rockies
Burst our winning bubble.
We’ll make them sneeze,
By hitting home runs—
Into the trees.

I’d <3 to see a win,
Let spring,
Finally begin.
Sixty degree temperatures—
Makes me sing.

I wish we,
Were already—
Back at Wrigley.
I’d <3 a win today,
To make the Rockies,
Go away.

Only one win they’ll get—
For the comeback—
We’re all set.
Rubber match,
Another win from them—
We’ll snatch.

Rockies, go climb a tree,
So we can be back in 1st place—
When we return to Wrigley.
Do you want me to,
Untie your shoe?
So you fall,
And we blast home runs,
Over the wall?

It’s time for us to win,
Making the Rockies spin.
From ear to ear,
We will grin.

High altitude,
Isn’t crude.
We don’t mean to,
Be rude—
No way, dude.
Victory is ours,
You can—
Hit the showers.

Our 8th Win

Let the fun begin,
Yesterday afternoon—
Was our eighth win!
Against the Cardinals,
We knocked them down—
Damage was minimal.

Today’s a new day,
The mountain way.
A weekend series,
With the Colorado Rockies.

For the weekend,
Off to Denver—
This will be a time,
To remember.

Their record is 11 wins,
With 9 losses;
Thus, we’re the bosses.
Our hope is,
Sweep the series—
Any quearies?

I think the game’s on channel nine,
At a crazy time.
Twenty to eight,
I’m glad it’s not—
Too late.

This mountain we’ll climb,
It’s butt whomping time!
The sweep is looming,
Our bats will be zooming.

Rockies, meet thy doom,
Say “hello” to—
My little broom!
All weekend long,
I hope we sing—
Our victory song.

It’s A Sunny Thursday For a Cubs Victory

It’s a sunny day,
A funny play.
Yes, let me say—
Happy Thursday.

It’s a great day,
I’m ready—
To play.
Send the “redbirds” packing,
Time for the Cubs—
To quit slacking,
And do some smacking,
And snacking.

I <3 this weather,
The snow’s gone,
No wind,
To blow a feather.

Only to shoot home runs,
Like rockets—
That came out,
Of my pockets.

It’s a great day,
To play—
The Cubbie way.
I’m ready for a win,
Let the home runs BEGIN!

Pollen count must be high,
Oh, my!
I’m not outdoors,
And I’m sneezing—
More and more.

I want to see,
A much-needed
v-i-c-t-o-r-y,
which is my cry,
“victory”!

No more slumps,
We’re not chumps.
Let’s watch the game,
This afternoon—
Do you feel the same?

It May Be The First Day Of Spring

According to the calendar,
Winter has been sent packing,
A note saying—
“Return to sender”.

Mother Nature doesn’t agree,
For, you see—
Cold temperatures today,
Winter just wants,
To stay.

Today’s spring,
The sun is—
Somewhat shining.
I haven’t been outside,
But, the weather—
Has been,
A wild ride. ☹

I <3 going outside,
When the weather’s warm—
And there’s no storm.
If I could,
A bike I’d ride.

But, not today,
Because winter—
Wants to stay.
Spring brings allergies,
Yes, there are days—
I can only sneeze.

My sinus are going nuts,
Stupid sinus headache—
Oh, shucks!
Dread spring as I do,
Because allergies—
Can be a zoo.

Baseball season,
So close—
For all the correct reason.
Wish I could go to a game,
With my bestie—
In me,
You bring the flame.

A Panful Day

Happy St. Patrick’s Day,
I’m in a painful way.
My muscles hurt—
My shoulders and back,
Even legs—
My body is alert.

I think my body’s telling me,
The exercise class—
That is twice a week,
Is designed for,
The elderly.
Even people with injuries,
Not all disabilities.

I don’t go necessarily because I can do it,
Or the exercises help;
It’s just something to do,
Buy, how it makes me hurt—
Who knew!

I have nothing to do today,
But, what do you,
Want to play?
Loyola plays tonight;
Game’s at 5,
If I remember right?

I’d <3 to see another win, 😊
Not a los—
That wouldn’t be good, ☹
Not for the cause.
Rust and watch TV,
Hope for victory.

Does that sound like a plan,
That you can stand?
I think so,
There goes the Armin Van Buren siren,
It says “Go, Go, Go!”

Six More Weeks Of Winter

Six more weeks of winter,
And its cold splinter.
The groundhog said today,
I wish spring was
Here to stay.

Warmth is what I wish for,
The cold weather to
Be kicked
Out the door.

Oh, well,
What the weather will do,
It’s so hard
To tell.

My bestie will,
Keep me warm,
From winter’s chill—
Even with the pending,
Snow storm.

I ❤ you, bestie,
How much do you
Really love me?
In rain and snow,
You always—
Let me know.
I hope you,
Never let
Me go.

What can I say?
You’re love—
Isn’t going away.
In fact,
Are you here—
To stay?

I miss you when we’re apart,
Miss hearing you fart.
You’ll never leave—
Your love doesn’t deceive.

Keep me warm today,
Inside we can play.
Finishing the current “Clone Wars” disc,
Wish we could work together—
Making a new music remix.

I’ll be there for you,
As long as you
Need me to.
I ❤ you bunches,
Will you be at exercise class?
Or lunch time—
To have the munches?

Right now, it’s sunny,
But not funny.
Still don’t know,
How much snow—
Will fall,
Not yet—
Not at all.
