Merry White Christmas!

Merry white Christmas,
In our yard—
All across.
We go from snow—
To bitter cold,
You know?

The day is festive,
Not negative.
Because of the snow,
But I could live
Without the bitter cold,
Way below.

I ❤ spending a cold day,
Cuddled with you—
That’s the way.
Nothing more,
I’d rather do.

The sun may be shining bright,
But, what a sight!
On the new-fallen snow,
It has that Christmas glow.

A Few Days Before Christmas

Two days to go before Christmas. . .
December sure has flown by in such a hurry. Ultimately, I’m so glad that I was able to finish my Christmas gift-getting way ahead of time. Procrastinating isn’t me—even on the festive time of year.
It’s the day before Christmas Eve, and the current weather doesn’t look like snow yet. Though it is cold, the sun’s out.
How deceivingly warm it looks! Nevertheless, there’s no wind to even dream up right now. Could that possibly change as the weekend rolls along?
My bestie and I have a date with family—not before tomorrow, that is. My parents literally live in town—just near the Illinois/Wisconsin boarder. Therefore, it’s somewhat an easy trip for them to make—as long as there’s no traffic or weather issues to speak of.
It’ll be nice to get out for a few ours—celebrate with family while watching the snow fall outside. Boy, is that going to make it really look and feel like Christmas!
No snow on the ground today; however, the temperatures make it feel like Christmas anyway.
Wish we could build a snowman—working together to make it the coolest of all the land. That would be awesome—even a snow kingdom. Ultimately, we may need more than three inches of snow to even attempt to make a winter creation.
Today’s a snow vacation. 2 days away to Christmas, and there isn’t even a snowflake flying in the sky. Oh, my! That is going to change, though; however, I’ll ride out this winter obstacle course with you—beginning with lunch tomorrow; how does that sound?

Twas The Friday Before Christmas

Twas the Friday before Christmas,
When all through Deer Path—
Not a resident was angry,
There was no wrath.

The stockings were draped—
On the wall with care,
Because we all knew—
Santa would be here.

Sean on the computer—
And I in bed,
Had settled our brains,
Hibernation ahead.

Each resident tucked in bed,
With dreams of Christmas wishes—
Dancing in their head.

When out in the hall—
There was much chatter,
I flew off my chair—
To check the matter.

Away to the door,
I ran in a flash—
Cracked it open,
Making a mad dash.

The lights in the hall,
Gave a weird glow—
To people passing below.

When what my wondering eyes
Should see,
But a goofy elf—
Staring at me.

With footsteps so quick,
Could it be Sean Keffer “Nick”?

Faster than lightning,
His followers came—
He called them by name.
“Now, Piuza, now Ed, now JoJo, now Maureen,
On Kelli, on Phil, on Jill—
Even Maureen.
To the stairs,
To the door—
Need I say more?
Now hit the floor.

Like high winds blow,
Even an obstacle to show—
To the top floor,
They all zoomed—
With a sack of gifts,
Headed for each room.

Then, a sound up top,
I heard the footsteps stop.
What came next,
Had me perplexed.
Keffer Claus covered in dirt,
From shoes to shirt.

Knocking on each door,
Passing out gifts galore.
His belly rumbled as he laughed,
Like an earthquake and a half.

Quick is how he did his work,
Then turned with a jerk.
To the door he ran—
Out of sight,
Behind the trash can.
As he left,
He said—
While fleeing out of sight,
“A joyous Christmas to all,
Have a good night.”

Santa’s Little Helper

Boy, have I been busy!
I’m surprised I’m not
At all dizzy.
I’ve been passing out gifts,
To friends—
Their sadness lifts.

Little Claus is coming to town,
Gather round.
My job’s almost done—
A few more gifts to pass out,
Not just one.

I’ve made Christmas week,
A joy that I seek.
Today, I surprised the maintenance guy,
Couldn’t catch him as
He was passing by.

Got a hug after,
With laughter.
Then on to the activity department—
Hard to catch her,
But my energy was spent.

Two more to go,
Can’t talk—
Gotta hurry,
Mustn’t be slow.

I’ll save the best for last,
So keep busy—
Soon, the wait
Won’t last.

Christmas Movies

O.K.,
So, this happened yesterday.
Towards the end—
The new movie,
Decided not to play.

I wasn’t there,
But I heard getting it to work—
Was proving to
Be a bear.

I did watch “The Story Of Santa Claus”,
Couldn’t hit pause.
Because it was on TV,
My boyfriend and I watched it-
He and me.

I ❤ good movies,
Even when my bestie—
Watches them
With me.

Stupid weather change,
Messing with my allergies.
Good time to be with you,
Watching Christmas movies

Decorating For Christmas

Decorating for Christmas,
Is always a fuss.
All I have is a fiber-optic tree—
Good enough for me.

I ❤ helping decorate,
Of the opportunity—
I can’t wait.

Exhausting, it was;
However, I made no fuss.
I always enjoy it,
Decorating where I sit.

I wish my bestie,
Could’ve joined the fun
With me.
It would’ve been fun,
Through the windows—
Seeing the sun.

Thus, there should be more opportunities,
For us besties.
A few sad-looking trees,
Need more lights—
If you please.

On A Slow Day

Today is a slow day,
Not a typical Monday.
Exercise class at ten,
Then shopping again.

Shopping doesn’t take long,
Never does—
Why?
Just because.

The rest of the day is free,
For whatever treasures to see.
Maybe playing music later,
Alligator.

I don’t know what the week will bring,
Just about anything.
Pool tourney at the end of the week,
Another prize is
What we seek.

For right now,
Now time to
Take a bow.
To exercise class I go,
Away from the
Melting snow.

Two Days Before Christmas

It’s two days,
Before Christmas,
I’m jealous.
Other places may be white,
But we could be wet,
Rain instead.

Nothing would be me amazing,
Even blazing. . .
Than getting to spend the holiday,
In a cuddly way.
Spending it with the one I love,
Definitely a gift sent from above.

I wouldn’t have it any other way,
Than waking up on Christmas day.
All wrapped up and warm,
Sheltered from any winter storm.
